Orange Cake

OPTION 1, THE BOOK

DOUGH:
- 4 eggs
- 3 tablespoons of flour
- 4 tablespoons of sugar
- 4 small oranges (use their juice drizzle cake baking).

CREAM:
- 4 egg yolks,
- Zest and juice from one orange
- 400g + 400 g whipped cream, natural and mixed with 4 tablespoons powdered sugar (800 g total)
- 5 sheets of gelatin (4 teaspoons, full)
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar.

Leaf:
Mix yolks with sugar, add flour and flavoring (optional, for example, vanilla), then egg whites beaten to a foam. Grease a cake pan, sprinkle with flour (or place special baking wax-paper, greased) and pour the mixture which is baked in a medium heat for 30-35 minutes. Flip while hot on a board, upside down.

Cream:
Mix vigorously the yolks with the sugar and the orange zest, then add the cream and an orange juice, sit on a low heat, stir together until thick as a cream.
After it cools a little add gelatin dissolved in warm water. (Do not boil gelatin as it will become bitter or destroyed)

Stir occasionally until cool.

Coat round dish with slices of peeled orange pulp (peel both exterior peel and inside white membrane) placing them alongside each, beautifully.

When the cream has cooled add the other 400 g whipped cream, mix well and pour into bowl over oranges. Put the dough on top, sprinkle lightly with orange juice, cover so it won't catch odors and place it in a cool place (fridge).

The second day flip on a large plate upside down, being careful not to move the orange slices.

VERSION 2, improvised

- 6 LARGE ORANGES, FRESH (that you will peel for both the outer and inner peel as any of then will become bitter in 24 hours)
- 2 ORANGES for juice

DOUGH:
- You can use bought dough cut in half (each half is sprinkled with a syrup made from the juice from 2 oranges in which you dissolved 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar), or quality wafers, (to have good flavor I use "Vicenza") not sprinkled.

CREAM
- 1 part (~ 400 g) cooked vanilla cream and orange peel
- 1 part (400 g) natural whipped cream with 4 tablespoons powdered sugar

ABOVE:
- Natural 400 g whipped cream, mixed with 4-5 tablespoons powdered sugar and some vanilla

Vanilla Cream:
- 3 egg yolks
- 200 g sugar
- 1 package sugar vanilla
- 100 g corn starch ("Gustin" in Romania) or flour
- 500 ml sweet milk (normal milk)
- Peel of 1 orange, fine graded
- 5 sheets gelatin (4 tsp full)

Mix vigorously the egg yolks with the sugar, add 2-3 tablespoons milk then add the starch. Place remaining milk and orange peel. Boil in a steam bath and stir continuously so it won't make lumps.

After it cools a bit add the vanilla sugar (if you boil it the flavor will evaporate), gelatin soaked in warm water and 400 g whipped cream. Stir occasionally until cool.

Assembly:

Place half of dough (sprinkled with sweetened orange juice) or unsprinkled wafers (enough to cover the bottom), half of the vanilla cream, a row of orange slices (half the quantity) and 1 / 3 of the whipped cream (about 150 g).

Place the other half of the dough sprinkled as well, or a row of wafers, remaining vanilla cream, oranges and whipped cream.

Cover and so cold.

Tort de portocale

VARIANTA 1, DIN CARTE

BLATUL:
- 4 oua,
- 3 linguri de faina,
- 4 linguri zahar,
- 4 potocale mai mici (cu zema lor se stropeste blatul copt).

CREMA:
- 4 galbenusuri,
- coaja rasa si zeama de la o portocala,
- 400+400 g frisca naturala batuta si amestecata cu cate 4 linguri zahar pudra, (total 800 g),
- 5 foi gelatina (4 lingurite mai pline),
- 1 lingura zahar pudra.

Blatul:
Se freaca galbenusurile cu zaharul, se adauga faina si arome (optional, de exemplu vanilie), apoi albusurile batute spuma. Se unge o forma de tort, se presara cu faina (sau se pune hartie speciala de copt, unsa) si se toarna compozitia care se coace la un foc potrivit 30-35 minute. Se rastoarna calda pe planseta.

Crema:
Se freaca galbenusurile cu zaharul si coaja rasa de portocala, apoi se adauga frisca si zema de la o portocala si se aseaza la un foc slab amestecand impreuna pana ce se ingroasa ca o smantana.
Dupa ce sa raceste putin se adauga gelatina care a fost dizolvata in putina apa calduta (nu fierbinte si nici nu se fierbe –gelatina devine amara)

Se amesteca din cand in cand pana se raceste.

Se tapeteaza un vas rotund cu felii de portocale curatate de coaja alba, atat fundul cat si marginile, asezandu-le frumos unele langa altele.

Cand crema s-a racit se mai adauga celelalte 400 g frisca batuta, se amesteca bine si se rastoarna in vas peste portocale. Deasupra se aseaza blatul, se stropeste usor cu zeama de portocale, se acopera sa nu ia miros si se da la rece.

A doua zi se rastoarna usor pe o farfurie mare, avand grija sa nu se deplaseze feliile de portocale.

VARIANTA 2, IMPROVIZATA

- 6 PORTOCALE MARI, PROASPETE
- 2 PORTOCALE PENTRU ZEAMA

BLATUL:
- Se poate folosi blat din comert taiat in doua, (se insiropeaza fiecare jumatate cand se asambleaza cu zeama de la 2 portocale si 3 linguri de zahar pudra, bine amestecate sa se topeasca zaharul), sau piscoturi de calitate, (sa aiba aroma buna, eu folosesc Vicenzi), neinsiropate.

CREMA
- 1 parte (~400 g) crema fiarta de vanilie si coaja de portocala,
- 1 parte (400 g) frisca naturala batuta cu 4 linguri zahar pudra,

DEASUPRA:
- 400 g frisca naturala batuta si amestecata cu 4-5 linguri zahar pudra si putina vanilie

Crema de vanilie:
- 3 galbenusuri,
- 200 g zahar,
- 1 pachet zahar vanilinat,
- 100 g zeamil de porumb (in Romania produsul Gustin) sau faina,
- 500 ml lapte dulce,
- coaja de la 1 portocala, rasa ,
- 5 foi gelatina (4 lingurite mai pline),

Se freaca galbenusurile cu zaharul, se adauca 2-3 linguri de lapte apoi se pune zeamilul sau faina si se amesteca. Se pune restul de lapte si coaja de portocala. Se fierbe pe baie de abur si se amesteca incontinuu ca sa nu faca cocoloase.

Dupa ce se raceste putin se adauga zaharul vanilinat (daca se fierbe se evapora aroma), gelatina inmuiata in apa calduta si 400 g frisca batuta. Se amesteca din cand in cand pana se raceste.

Asamblarea:

Se pune jumatate din blat (insiropat cu zeama de portocale cu zahar) sau piscoturi neinsiropate (cat sa acopere fundul vasului), ½ din crema de vanilie, un rand de felii de portocale (1/2 din cantitate), curatate de coaja alba felie cu felie (devine amara pana a doua zi), si 1/3 din frisca (aprox 150 g).

Se pune si cealalta jumatate de blat, se insiropeaza, sau inca un rand de piscoturi, restul de crema de vanilie, portocale iar deasupra frisca batuta ramasa.

Se acopera si se da la rece.

MARȚIPAN Produs zaharos obținut dintr-un amestec de zahăr și de miez de migdale.

Ora locala la care s-a intamplat: 13:57 (20:57 ora Romaniei).
Intensitatea seismului a fost de 5.5 grade pe scara Richter iar efectele au fost destul de minore.

Why facebook.com is a stupid site

Just experienced today:

1) tried to log into FB from my mobile
2) didn't remember the password (solution for that here...)
3) after two attempts my account was blocked

Went home and:

1) logged in just to find that my account was violated
2) next step was to enter a reCaptcha code
3) I recognized the log in failure as my own

All should be well, fine and dandy but...
I am being asked for reCaptcha codes on each and every action despite that:
Even if there would have been such an attempt I am the one who gets restricted and verified, and not the terminal from which the attempt has taken place.

And that is just one stupid thing. There are more.

Confusing passwords

I can't remember the password for each and every site!
Some sites require uppercase letters, numbers and special characters and some sites forbid you to use those. So I need to remember the security level of each site and adapt my input at the password field.

Solution: A short reminder of the security level (or types of chars needed) right next to the text field... (and a chosen password length of 8 because it fits for most sites).

Prima Evadare 2010. Bucuresti - Snagov

Prima evadare este un maraton de CXC (Cycling Cross Country) ce are loc in apropierea Bucurestiului.

Situl oficial Prima Evadare e plin de informatii dar, pe scurt avem:

Cand: 9 mai 2019 - duminica
De unde: Startul este la Academia de Politie - Baneasa
Pana unde: Finishul este la Complexul Snagov
Cat de lung: aproximativ 55km (>95% padure si camp)

Traseul a fost recunoscut de un grup maricel sambata dupa cum urmeaza:
- teren plat cu mici diferente de nivel (~50m)
- traseu de camp / drum de tara
- drum forestier cu si fara balti mari si mici
- poteci de padure

Iata niste poze cu ce am vazut si facut :)

Bike Walk 2010, Bucuresti

BIKEWALK 2010 (site oficial) este un eveniment la prima editie ce presupune intalnirea de biciclisti si plimbarea lejera (din pacate doar pe pista de biciclisti).

Nu e nevoie de casti, iar pentru cine vrea sa participe si nu are bicicleta sta la dispozitie Cicloteque-ul - 50 de bitze de inchiriat.

Unde am fost noi azi? 2

Azi am fost pana la Lacul Snagov - un fel de Poiana Brasov a Bucurestiului, tinand cont de consacrare si vile.

Traseul poate fi urmarit pe Nokia Sports Tracker aici.

Echipa de doi ciclisti (eu si Cristi) a caror bite puteti vedea in poza asta, facuta cu mobilul.
Am concluzionat ca mersul la trena este foarte bun. Mersul la trena dupa tir / autobuz - si mai bun.
Ca pe sosea s-ar merita niste cauciucuri slick (cu profil fin) si ca pantalonii de ciclism cu bazon sunt o idee destul de buna numai ca e greu pana cand te decizi sa ii porti prima data.
A fost o zi placuta, cu soferi intelegatori (chiar am fost incurajati de cativa) si cu cateva grupuri de alti tampiti ca noi.

You have to hand it to them, though... they make a great point :)

I will explain it anyway in 4 easy steps:
1) google "recursion"
google will suggest something (Did you mean...)
2) click on that!
still there? click on it again
3) repeat as much times times as you like
now, the answers will actually appear if you go back a uncertain number of pages
4) hit Back; hit it again until you find the answer (an uncertain number of times)
if not found go to step 2

See? That is Recursion! Hurray!

Poti vedea aici traseul de azi. Facut cu bitzili.

Cea mai interesanta faza e aplicatia asta shucara numita Sports Tracker (momentan beta, de la NOKIA). Ea face live traseul parcurs ghidandu-se dupa sateliti; recupereaza pozele facute pe traseu (e una acolo) si imparte asta cu lumea.

Aia e cam si viteza medie a mersului pe jos, daca te grabesti doar un pic.

Google buzz, o noua retea sociala (de parca nu aveam destule). Dar stai sa vezi...

Direct integrata in Gmail, permite impartirea informatiei cu prietenii si lumea. E ca un Tweeter dar fara 140 de limitari.

Ce stie sa faca?

1) Adauga prietenii din lista de mail-uri automat; nu pe toti, ci pe cei cu care vorbesti mai des.
2) Poti sa imparti status-uri dar si poze, video, linkuri si altele. Pozele de poti previzualiza pe intreg ecranul si rapid; stie sa le ia direct din Flikcr sau Picasa. Cand imparti un link, stie sa sugereze poze si citate care sa le incluzi in ceea ce spui.
3) Poti posta atat public cat si catre public restrans (grupuri predefinite: rude, coelgi, prieteni etc).
4) Este integrat in Gmail. Cand primesti un comment apare ca un mail nou, insa cu o icoana in dreapta.
5) In ultimul rand, Buzz stie sa sugereze articolele unora din afara listei de prieteni, daca prieteni de-ai tai considera articolul ca fiind bun. Pe de alta parte, va arata doar titlul articolelor considerate irelevante.

Lasand la o parte aburelile partidului de glorie si eficienta, notam doua lucruri interesante:

Pentru virusul profilexx.001webs :
Faci pe desktop un fisier CFSscript.txt cu urmatorul continut:

2) asigura-te ca ambele sunt pe Desktop

! Daca ai conexiune la net prin cont (PPPoE sau altul si trebuie sa dai "Connect"), fa un shortcut pe desktop; mai tarziu trebuie legatura la net (vezi 7.)

3) inchide toate aplicatiile (explorere, messenger etc)

4) fa drag-and-drop la CFSscript.txt peste ComboFix.exe

5) va avea loc o serie de rulari automate
6) programul va face un restart
7) dupa restart va cere conexiune la internet

! Daca ai cont PPPoE si nu stii cum sa il pornesti ca programul sa poata continua fa astfel:
- deschide Task Manager (apasant CTRL + ALT + DELETE)
- butonul "New Task"
- butonul "Browse"
- pentru a cauta Shortcuts trebuie, de jos de la "Files of type", selectat "All files".

(click pentru a mari)

8) Asteapta sa termine rularea (10 - 15 minute); chiar daca intra in Windows, nu rula nici un program pana nu se inchide fereastra (consola) albastra.

Cand e foarte frig afara, cum a fost iarna asta: cateva zile consecutive de -20 ... -15 grade si se face pod de gheata tocmai de la Ciurel pana la Grozavesti se poate observa la cascada de la Grozavesti un fenoment destul de interesant.

Dupa cum se stie, apa sta cuminte sub gheata la temperatura de 4 grade. Iar cand iese de acolo, ca sa cada in cascada, ea pare sa fiarba.
